Dear Mr. Jackson:

RE: Your September 07, 2007 Letter Re: Collective Bargaining

I received your letter earlier today, and have now had a chance to discuss it with Mr. Scott (Senior Negotiator – GVRD) and with Mr. Naklicki (City CUPE 1004 Bargaining Representative). I have also reviewed it with our General Manager, Human Resources, Mr. Zora.

The bargaining team agrees that there is value in resuming discussions at the bargaining table with the individual CUPE locals. It would be our preference to meet face to face with CUPE 1004 on Thursday September 13th and Friday September 14th. As you may be aware we have agreed to meet with CUPE 15 from Monday to Wednesday of next week. The Library negotiating team will be making separate arrangements to meet with CUPE 391. The GVRD is currently trying to locate an appropriate venue in anticipation that this will be acceptable to your committee.

Yours truly,

Judy Rogers
City Manager
