“Yet another civic settlement in the Lower Mainland makes it obvious that something more than the garbage stinks in Vancouver. The public must be asking, why have there been three labour disputes in the City of Vancouver since 1997?” says O’Neill. “And all of them under the same NPA-dominated council.”
CUPE 402-01 represents 90 inside, outside, and RCMP office staff at the City of White Rock.

If all the strikes are happening vs. the NPA, could it be because CUPE has a political agenda?
I have no doubt that there is a political agenda behind CUPE's actions. Donalda Greenwell Baker sits both on the CUPE 15 and COPE executive.
The quote I cited was from Barry O'Neil, CUPE BC President.
Historically, the longest strike was in 1981 when COPE Mayor Mike Harcourt held the office. The large pile of garbage which grew in Robson Square was the impetus for privatizing garbage pick up downtown.
